It appears that Jessica Simpson is always put together.

However, during a tribute performance to Dolly Parton’s “Nine to Five” at the Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday, a jittery Jess slipped up the song lyrics as she performed the 80’s hit with “Idol” alum and country star Carrie Underwood.

When the song ended, Jess bolted off stage to no applause. Then later when she and the other singers reappeared on stage later, the blonde bombshell was still in tears.

There’s no word on whether Simpson’s performance will be edited out of the broadcast, which will air later this month.

Parton was recognized at the star-studded gala, in addition to Steven Spielberg, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Smokey Robinson and conductor Zubin Mehta.
