Globe Nods just 'Icing on the Cake' for Clooney
December 14, 2005
George Clooney has been crowned king of the Golden Globes, earning three nominations, and "Extra" found out where the star was when he heard the good news.
"I was at a massage parlor getting a once over," he told us. "Mostly a full body massage."
Clooney received a Best Director nod for "Good Night, and Good Luck," a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role as a CIA agent in "Syriana" and a Best Screenplay nod, along with his writing/ producing partner Grant Heslov, for "Good Night, and Good Luck."
Success hasn't come easy for Clooney in the last year. He gained 35 pounds for his role in "Syriana," which left him with a severe spinal injury and agonizing back pain.
But all the pain was worth it. Clooney told us, "I've got to tell you the truth. Creatively, it's been a really fun year. This is icing on the cake."
Now the question remains: who will the Globe's golden boy bring as his Golden Globe date? "I'm bringing your wife," Clooney said to his co-writer Heslov. "As it has been for how many years now?"
