Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are officially new parents! Jen gave birth to a healthy baby girl Thursday morning at a Los Angeles hospital, Us Weekly reports.

Garner wasn't due for another week, but doctors induced labor Wednesday night. We're told that a very attentive Ben was by Jen's side in the delivery room.

Just days ago, the proud dad-to-be told "Extra" how he was getting ready for fatherhood: "I've given up smoking. I'm chewing gum. All I do is chew gum."

Jen first let the sex of her baby slip during an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," and now there are reports that the baby's name will be Violet. In fact, during Garner's baby shower in October, the actress received tons of presents wrapped in purple.
