Revealing the 'Housewives'' Secrets
December 14, 2004
All but one of the "Desperate Housewives"
received Golden Globe nominations Monday morning,
and "Extra" was first to talk to Eva Longoria
about not getting a nod.
Eva admitted she's a little disappointed, but explained
she missed the all-important Foreign Press Luncheon
-- and the chance to mingle with voting members -- so
she could be with her terminally sick aunt. But Eva
was quick to add: "I'm not saying I would get nominated
just if they met me, because I think there are so many
great women in this category."
And while the "Desperate Housewives" bask
in Golden Globe glory, the rest of America is dying
to know what will happen next. So "Extra"
went straight to Wisteria Lane's resident hottie,
James Denton, to get the scoop.
Let's start with Mike and Susan, played by James
and Teri Hatcher; will they continue their challenged
romance? They will: "There's some really fun
Mike and Susan stuff," James revealed. "Obviously,
they will keep trying to get together. Of course,
Edie doesn't go quietly."
"It has been a little rough on poor Edie,"
Nicolette Sheridan admitted of her character's reaction
to the romance. "But she'll get them back."
"I hear it's going to have its ups and downs,"
Teri added. "But right now it's up."
Next question: will there be a new body getting exposure
on the show? It appears so: Marla Sokoloff, Felicity
Huffman's new nanny on the show, revealed that, "There
are some scantily-clad moments for me."
And how about rumors one of the characters will
soon get pregnant? "Somebody on the show might
get pregnant," Teri told us.
But for those hearing there might be a "Desperate
Husbands" spin-off, Executive Producer Marc
Cherry said no, insisting, "We're just trying
to get through season one."
Stories are swirling off the set as well. For instance,
did Eva just get "Punk'd" by Ashton Kutcher?
"You guys got the exclusive," she confirmed.
"There were like four cop cars with guns drawn
and they're like, 'Get out of the car!'"
What about the Teri toe rumor? Did she really break
her toe at her backyard birthday party? Yes, she told
us: "Somebody stepped on my foot, broke my toe."
I t seems that there's never a dull moment with
the folks from Wisteria Lane.
