Waiting For the Word
December 6, 2004 The Grammy Awards nominations will be announced on Tuesday, and our Mark McGrath will be the man with the word of who gets the nod. We went to the stars to see how the excitement is building.
Paris Hilton and Ryan Seacrest got the party started this weekend as music's biggest and brightest stars hit the stage for KISS FM’s annual Jingle Ball. Ashlee Simpson, Avril Lavigne and Alicia Keys also rocked the house in this musical prelude to the Grammy announcements.
"I hyperventilated on stage because I was so excited," said Jingle Ball surprise guest Gwen Stefani.
But backstage, Gwen told "Extra" she's taking a much-needed break this Christmas after spending months working on her film debut in "The Aviator." "How weird is that huh? It was pretty outrageous to be able to play someone like Jean Harlow."
And sure-to-be Grammy nominee Maroon5's Adam Levine gave "Extra" a lesson in kissing Kelly Preston, who he lip-locked in the band’s latest music video. "They don't use their tongues in movie kisses, which I wasn't aware of, until I almost used my tongue," he revealed.
Meanwhile, at A Home for the Holidays benefit, it was
all Grammy talk for the Black Eyed Peas. "I got
started thinking about what I’m going to wear, how I'm
going to freak it and rock it, if we get nominated,"
said will.i.am. "How we're going to rock the thank
you’s."
And since it’s Mark who’s going to be rocking with the Black Eyed Peas and Nelly Tuesday morning to announce the year’s nominees, you can be sure "Extra" will be the first place to turn for the latest Grammy news -- so stay tuned!
