Mario, Joey and Emmitt Dive in for ‘Dancing’ Title
November 2, 2006

It’s down to the final three on “Dancing with the Stars,” as teen queen Monique Coleman was sent packing after Wednesday night’s show.

“I’m okay, I don’t feel like crawling back into a shell,” Monique said after hearing the news. “I came into this show very shy, and I’m walking away from it like, ‘I got this, this is cool.’”

While Monique’s departure wasn’t a surprise, gasps were heard throughout the ballroom when frontrunner Mario wound up in the “Dancing” death box.

But as he reminded our Shanna Moakler, he may not have really been in the bottom two.

“I was told it was no particular order,” Mario said. “I hope that’s the case and nobody lied to us. But thanks for keeping us in check.”

Now Mario, Joey and Emmitt will move on and grace the dance floor as the final three, and we asked the experts who they think will win season three of “Dancing with the Stars.”

“My brain, at this stage, is saying Mario will win,” Len dished. “My heart is saying Emmitt will win.”

“I think Emmitt could win,” Judge Carrie Ann agreed. “Sometimes it’s about generating momentum, and Emmitt is exciting right now.”

As for country cutie Sara Evans, who left the show to be with her family during a difficult divorce, we asked the judges if the country queen could still be standing had she not left the show.

“I would have imagined that she had her fantastic fan base, and that quite often saves you time and time again,” Len said.

However, the judges still have a special wish list for a star-studded season finale.

“I would like to have Whitney! Please Whitney!” Bruno pleaded.

See the “Dancing” excitement for yourself when the semi-finals kick off Tuesday on ABC.
