A New Love Interest for Mike the Plumber?
November 9, 2005
James Denton is spilling secrets from the set of "Desperate Housewives," and he's opening up only to "Extra." First off, we got the inside word on the stunning news of co-star Nicollette Sheridan calling off her engagement to Niklas Soderblom.
"Nik is such a great guy," Denton said. "I'm sure they must be good friends. There must be a story there that makes perfect sense, but I don't want to ask because I like them both so much. But if you want to take on Nicollette, feel free!"
Wisteria Lane's hunky plumber also got very candid about his hit show. "The second season is odd," he admitted. "I think people are a little more critical, a little pickier about their show, a little protective of their characters."
Denton revealed his on-again-off-again affair with Teri Hatcher is moving toward a resolution. And he hinted that Mike the plumber might get involved with another one of the lovely ladies. "Oddly enough, it might happen," he revealed. "So stay tuned."
But Denton told us one of the greatest thrills in his life came courtesy of Oprah. Last year, Denton won Oprah's "Your Wildest Dream" segment, and he ended up working out with the Red Sox in spring training.
"My wife calls it the summer of love because I spent all summer going from park to park throwing out the first pitch," Denton admitted.
Denton also revealed that he and his wife, Erin, keep
their love fresh by playing on a softball team together.
So whether it's on set or playing the fields, life is
very good for Wisteria Lane's resident heartthrob.
