Matt Hoover Crowned 'Biggest Loser'
November 30, 2005
NBC hosted an emotional primetime moment Tuesday, as Matt Hoover won a quarter of a million dollars and an enormous amount of self respect on "The Biggest Loser." Today, Hoover stopped by "Extra's" New York studios to talk about his transformation from a depressed 339-pound man to a lean 182-pound athlete.
"It was quite a ride," Hoover admitted.
What does Matt plan to do now that he's 157 pounds lighter and $250,000 richer? "The money is nice," he admitted. "It's not really that much in the big scheme of things. I'm paying off my bills and will buy a new boat."
"Extra" went behind the scenes of the finale
Tuesday night, where even the runners-up felt great.
"I feel like a winner," Suzy said.
Seth, another runner-up, told us he's now got a whole new lease on life. "The biggest thing we took home is our bodies," he insisted.
As for Matt, he made this solemn promise to "Extra:" "Come back and see me in a year or two years or five years because I'm not going back. I feel too good to let myself deteriorate."
