Music's Brightest Stars Gather for AMAs
November 23, 2005

The red carpet was teaming with red-hot couples Tuesday night at the American Music Awards, including Tim McGraw and Faith Hill and Carmen Electra and rocker Dave Navarro, who celebrated more than just music.

"Tonight is our second anniversary," Electra revealed.

It was also a night that included several of People's Sexiest Men Alive. We surprised Sheryl Crowe and biker boyfriend Lance Armstrong with the magazine's layout. And James Denton's wife, Erin, couldn't have more pleased about her "Desperate" plumber making the cut.

"I scored," she insisted.

Newly-single Jenny McCarthy introduced her new man to the world at the AMAs, and Paris Hilton burned up the red carpet solo, but she did come baring news about her new album.

"I wrote all my songs," she said. "It's about my life, friendships and love."

Even some of the stars were star struck at the AMAs. Lindsay Lohan, who performed for the first time in primetime, couldn't wait to meet her musical idol Annie Lennox.

Meanwhile, teen queen Hilary Duff and her rocker boyfriend Joel Madden revealed who they were there to see: "Mariah Carey," Duff said. "I'm really excited, she's awesome."

There's no doubt Mariah busted out (literally) on the AMA stage. She was named the Favorite R&B Artist as well as the unofficial winner for Most Daring.

"This dress isn't glued on," she said. "I was like this thing could fall off at any minute and they would think it's a complete publicity stunt."

Mariah led a parade of beautiful stars including fellow award winners Gwen Stefani, Kelly Rowland and Shakira.

Will Smith took home the award for Favorite Male Pop Rock Artist for the second time, and he told us, "It choked me up a little. I said, ‘Hold on boy, you make action movies.'"

And no awards show is complete without some hot fashions. Ashanti showed off her sexy figure in Roberto Cavalli, admitting, "Double stick tape."

Missy Elliot showed off the wheels that she's been riding since injuring a foot at the Emmy Awards back in September.

But whatever tricks they used, music's hottest stars sparkled for their big night!
