Trump Jr. Ties the Knot and You're Invited!
From the spectacular poolside ceremony to the extravagant cake, it was another Trump marriage made in Mar-a-Lago heaven, and only "Extra" takes you there. We were with the groom just moments before he took Vanessa Hayden as his bride.
The Trump bride, who was escorted down the aisle by her mother, beamed in her white, mermaid-cut gown that she dreamt up with designer Reem Acra. The dress was topped off with a pearl and diamond Mikimoto tiara.
But as perfect as Hayden looked, she was missing someone
dear to her. "I just wish that my grandmother were
here to see me walk down the aisle," she said.
"She always liked when I got dressed up, and she
always dreamed about one day me being in my wedding
dress. So that would have been wonderful."
The groom's aunt, Federal Judge Maryanne Trump Barry, officiated the ceremony. Jr.'s world-famous father, Donald Trump, sat just feet away from his ex-wife Ivana, who was quick to welcome Vanessa into the Trump family.
"I almost started crying three or four times," she admitted. "I would like to wish the best of everything for Vanessa and of course, my darling son!"
We also caught up with the groom's beautiful sister, Ivanka, who said, "Congratulations Don and congratulations Vanessa, my new sister, the new Mrs. Trump!"
The groom's mom, Ivana had a great time on the dance floor, and for the record, she and the current Mrs. (Melania) Trump politely avoided each other.
Ivana's dear friend, "Dynasty" diva Joan Collins was also among the celebrities in attendance. "Ivana, many congratulations on your son's wedding," she said.
The stunning crystal-adorned floral arrangements were by Stone Kelly. And there were actually two wedding cakes: a magnificent Sylvia Weinstock creation bursting with red roses and a surprise cake just for the groom, which celebrated his fondness for fishing.
OK magazine snapped the first official photos of the new Mr. and Mrs. Trump, and their wedding exclusive hits newsstands Wednesday.
"We knew that the Donald Trump Jr. wedding would be extravagant," said Rob Chilton, senior news editor for OK magazine. "The pictures from the wedding are just extraordinary."
The happy couple is now honeymooning in Mexico and Fiji, and everyone here at "Extra" wishes them all the best!
