Drama, Emotions and Confessions from Sara’s Dirty Divorce
October 26, 2006

Craig Schelske approached his wife Sara Evans Thursday in a Tennessee courtroom for the first time since she filed for divorce.

The man at the middle of the country thunder talked exclusively to “Extra,” as he opened up for the first time since the scandal erupted.

As the embattled couple exchanged few words, Craig walked away, fighting back tears. However, when asked if he still loved his wife, Craig responded, “Yes, yes I do.”

On reports that he had an affair with Alison Clinton, the couple’s nanny, Craig had “no comment.”

Meanwhile, the country cutie kept silent as she faced a crush of cameras following her into the courtroom.

Inside, the judge issued the warning “behave yourselves” to the couple, before Craig made the surprising move to drop his request to move back into the couple’s home.

“He wants to take the high road; he wants to avoid this case from becoming a reality TV show,” Schelske’s lawyer said.

However, Craig will finally be allowed to visit with their children.

As for the dirty pictures Sara claims she found on Craig’s computer hard drive, the judge ruled any and all photos will remain out of the public eye.

He also ordered them to split the $274,000 that was frozen after Sara filed for divorce, and told the two to monitor what the children see about their bitter battle.

Outside the courtroom, Sara’s lawyer, John Hollins, told our Carlos Diaz that the couple’s children remain her number one concern, adding, “They’re doing well.”

But the battle is just beginning, as both sides are due back in court Friday morning.
