Sara's Scandalous Divorce Takes another Turn
October 18, 2006
It's the story with more twists than a honky tonk tune.
From the country cutie's emotional sit-down interview to the nanny she accused of adultery, "Extra" unveils the all-new shocker made by Sara's estranged husband.
According to TMZ.com, multiple sources claim Craig Schelske once accused Sara of having an affairs with multiple music associates, including country singer Kenny Chesney.
The duo toured together in 2000 and 2001, before Kenny married actress Renée Zellweger.
"Sara denies it, and says these accusations are absurd and untrue," revealed Harvey Levin, managing editor of TMZ.
Sara's reps also deny TMZ's report that Craig was suspicious of Sara's relationship with her dance partner, Tony Dovolani, who was by Sara's side for part of her dramatic interview Tuesday night.
"I just needed to take care of my children," Sara admitted. "Nothing was more important than that."
More than 22 million people watched Tuesday as the embattled country star broke her silence and described the moment she realized her marriage had to end.
"Something happened (after the results show Wednesday), and it's very personal and very traumatic and just, it was very hard for my children," Sara shared. "Things drastically went downhill, you know, 100 miles an hour."
"Extra" uncovered a few details that Sara did not reveal Tuesday night.
According to a source, police were called to a Beverly Hills restaurant after Sara and Craig had a heated conversation about their kids last Wednesday. And that argument was so upsetting, that Sara began to worry about the welfare of her little ones.
"(I was worried about) the emotional welfare of my kids," Sara admitted.
Craig fired back at Sara on Wednesday, issuing a four word statement about Sara's interview: "That was just sad."
Schelske denies all of Sara's allegations, including the claim that he committed adultery with their former nanny, Alison Clinton.
On Tuesday, "Extra" sat down with the nanny for her first on-camera interview. Alison revealed that her boss, Craig, never made a pass at her. She also said Sara's claims were completely untrue.
On Wednesday, the former nanny shared with "Extra" how Sara even served as matron of honor at her wedding.
"She helped me put my veil on, and she gave me a big hug and kiss before we got married," Alison recalled.
Now that hug and kiss have turned into verbal slaps, and Alison is demanding a public apology from Sara.
"This allegation is absolutely not true," Alison promised. "I did not have an affair."
Meanwhile, "Extra's" special correspondent Shanna Moakler spoke to Sara's former competitors after Tuesday night's show, where Joey Lawrence sent his sympathies.
"Our prayers and thoughts are with her. Period," the former child star said.
The sexy Mario Lopez saluted Sara's courage: "She's such a classy lady, and I think she's handling the situation with such grace."
The lovable Jerry Springer also gave the country sweetheart a pat on the back.
"She's got her priorities right. Concentrate on the kids first," Jerry praised.
Until the wind blows over, Sara will remain out of the "Dancing" spotlight, with one exception: she'll be back (at least for one night) to appear on the season finale.
