Paul McCartney Declares: I'm Not a Wife Beater'
October 18, 2006

Sir Paul McCartney is putting his foot down and fighting back after his estranged wife Heather Mills filed court papers alleging domestic abuse.

In 13 pages of court papers, Heather claimed that Paul stabbed her in the arm with a broken wine glass, shoved her when she was pregnant and grabbed her around the throat.

On Wednesday, in a statement issued through his lawyers, Paul said he wants to protect his children and will not comment publicly. And his defense promised "our client will be defending these allegations vigorously and appropriately."

A source close to Paul accused Heather of leaking the court papers to hurt Paul's reputation.

However, in this "Extra" exclusive, Heather's friend and American publicist Michelle Elizabeth told us, "She did not leak anything, and she wouldn't. Otherwise she would have come to me."

So if this alleged abusive behavior was going on, why did the seemingly strong willed Heather stay?

"All you need is love," Michelle said. "That is what she thought."

Meanwhile, Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz enjoyed a night out in Hollywood Tuesday.

The pop star staged his own project runway, unveiling his new line of street sexy clothes, a collection he created with design partner Trace Ayala.

"They made a great line, and I'm really happy for them," a proud Cameron told us.

"The most you can ask for is that there are no hitches, and there were no hitches," Timberlake added.

The show and after party were the hottest tickets in town. We spotted Eddie Murphy there, but the actor was flying solo as news broke that Eddie will soon be a new father once again.

TMZ.com is reporting that Murphy's gal pal, Melanie Brown, a.k.a. Scary Spice, is four months pregnant.

And from one leading man to another, only "Extra" can reveal People magazine's pick for the Sexy Man of the Week: "Grey's Anatomy's" new star, Dr. McSteamy.

Extra recently caught up with Eric Dane's wife, actress Rebecca Gayheart, on the set of the FOX show "Vanished."

"I've gotten a couple of little notes calling me Ms. McSteamy," Gayheart admitted. "Which is kind of funny."

If there's a Sexy Man in your life, People invites you to send his photo to www.PEOPLE.COM/YOURSEXYMAN, beginning October 26.
