Jerry Ready to Spring into Next Round
October 10, 2006

Jerry Springer brought America to tears last week on "Dancing with the Stars" in a heartfelt waltz dedicated to his daughter.

"I'd have to say that was the best minute and a half I ever had on television," Jerry admitted. "Because it was so personal."

But that was last week.

"I think people will be crying this week, but it's because of how horrible I am," Jerry predicted.

When "Extra" caught up with the sentimental favorite, he was shaking his groove thing with professional partner Kym Johnson, the 29-year-old Aussie dancer who shimmied her way to gold on the Australian version of "Dancing with the Stars."

"I don't think people look at me and say, ‘Samba,'" Jerry joked, which Kym claims he does a lot.

"Jerry jokes around a lot," Kym said. "But underneath all that, he wants to do really well."

But even after several weeks of strenuous rehearsals, Jerry is still joking about what great shape he's not in.

"I eat cheeseburgers everyday, and they're good," he admitted.

Chest pain and joking aside, Jerry is ready to spring into one more round in the ballroom!

"Vote early and often," Jerry advised. "And remember: you vote for me, and I'll lower your taxes!"

Tune into ABC Tuesday night to see who waltzes to the top on "Dancing with the Stars."
