Houston, Brown Celebrate 25 Years of
BET
October 27, 2005
Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown and music's hottest
stars came together Wednesday night for the BET Anniversary
Bash, and "Extra" was there for all the action!
Tito Jackson used the night to do a little rumor control
with "Extra," telling us there is no way his
sister Janet has a secret 18-year-old daughter.
"I do not have a nephew or niece or whatever it is that's being said right now," he told us. "I'm pretty sure it bothered [Janet] a little bit, but she's going to go on and be strong like Janet always is. She'll just flake it off, keep moving, said what she had to say, she'll be ok."
The Janet rumors even made it backstage, where Mary J. Blige offered her support. "I just, you know, hope Janet is alright," Blige said. "I love the Jacksons, and I send them my prayers and all my positive energy."
The night featured some smash performances from Alicia Keyes, a beefed-up Nelly and Snoop Dogg.
But the big buzz had to do with Brown's return to New
Edition. "I am, was and always will be a fan of
New Edition," Usher said. "I just hope they
put it together at the end and do something."
"Extra" did some digging, and we found out
that the entire band is back in the studio. Brown also
revealed that he and Houston plan to be back for season
two of "Being Bobby Brown."
You can catch all the action when BET's 25th Anniversary
airs November 1st.
