Is Sandra Bullock Really Expecting?
October 25, 2005
It was girls' night out Monday for Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry and Sandra Bullock. The trio joined a gorgeous gang of celebrities for the Hollywood Film Festival Gala, where they shared some secrets and reminisced about the days before stardom.
"There were times that we had no money," Bullock said, after being reminded of when she and our correspondent Lawrence Zarian waited tables together.
"We used to pretend we were a married German couple, and she was pregnant," Zarian explained.
"Which is funny, because everyone seems to think I'm pregnant now!" Bullock added.
But the actress cleared up that rumor, insisting, "It's called weight gain."
The normally-private Bullock also opened up about life at home with her new husband. "I like it," she said. "I'm a good little missus. See after this, I go home, and I finish washing clothes."
Meanwhile, Halle Berry was buzzing about the mystery project that has Hollywood's leading ladies salivating. "I don't want to say because a lot of girls are fighting for it," Berry admitted. "I don't want to bring it up. There is one that I have my eye on right now. But about five other Oscar winners do too."
On stage, Aniston received a warm ovation before presenting the Breakthrough Acting Award to her "Good Girl" co-star Jake Gyllenhaal. "I like to think of myself as his Mrs. Robinson," Aniston said, laughing.
But the evening belonged to Diane Keaton, who got a rousing intro from Goldie Hawn before accepting her Career Achievement Award.
"You're going to have to deal with me until they cart me away on a gurney, so thanks," Keaton said while accepting her award.
