Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have caught the world off guard yet again. And unless you've been living under a rock for the last few days, you already know that there's a little Cruise on the way. But did the pregnancy come as a surprise to the star couple?
"Tom has said in the past that he's wanted to have kids, so I don't think this was a huge surprise to them," said People magazine's Jess Cagle. "But they're not saying how far along she is. They're not saying, if they do know, what the gender of the baby is."
Meanwhile, another mom-to-be, Melania Trump, made a guest appearance on Martha Stewart's show Thursday, and then met "Extra" backstage, where she revealed that she doesn't expect Daddy Donald to get down and dirty on diaper duty.
"I don't know," Melania admitted. "If that happens, I will let you know. I don't expect that he will do it, no."
The Donald's other baby, "The Apprentice," airs Thursday night on NBC.
And some new mysteries have arisen surrounding the breakup of Paris Hilton and Paris Latsis. Ms. Hilton celebrated her sister's birthday by hitting Hollywood with the family Wednesday night, and "Extra" spoke to Marijo Gilles, a Latsis family friend, in New York.
Gilles said the family never really considered Paris and Paris engaged, and they still don't know who bought the ring. "There is no way Paris Latsis had $5 million to purchase this ring," Gilles insisted. "The family does not know where the ring came from, and it continues to be a puzzle."
And finally, Jerry O'Connell stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to do a little dancing, and he also revealed why he decided against proposing to fiancée Rebecca Romijn at a baseball game.
"What if your significant other says ‘no' in front of 50,000 people?" O'Connell explained. "That's why I wanted to do it really privately. That way if ‘no' happened, I would be the only one who knew about it."
Of course, she said yes.
