Travolta's Security Scare
October 20, 2004
Hollywood power couple John Travolta and Kelly Preston
fear for their safety today. "Extra" has learned that
threats have been made against the couple and they are
taking no chances. Everywhere the Travoltas have gone,
security guards have followed.
Sunday night, "Extra" spotted the couple at the premiere
of "A Love Song for Bobby Long." The two arrived late,
and we have learned that security guards even forced
guests to remove pens from their pockets.
John Travolta does not scare easy. In his most recent
movie, "Ladder 49," he walked straight into fire, and
he recently told us about his passion for flying. "When
I took my three jet licenses, emergencies are thrown
at me," he said.
But whoever made these recent threats, it obviously
got Travolta's attention. Bo Dietel, security consultant
to the stars, told us that John and Kelly are doing
the right thing: "It can be very risky when you're high
profile. Whenever you are in the public arena, you really
have to think about your security. You also have to
think about the security of your children and whether
they're being protected."
When we spoke to Kelly earlier this month, she made
it clear that in her and her husband's lives, their
kids come first. "I'm so much about my family and kids,"
she had said. "That's the priority for me."
And keeping the family safe is obviously the first and
only priority for John and Kelly.
