Private Dancer October
8, 2004
"I am happy," Jennifer Lopez laughed, and
it couldn't have been more obvious, as we sat down to
talk with the superstar about her new life and her new
film with Richard Gere, "Shall We Dance?"
which brought her back to her dancing roots. "Finally
I got to do a little cutting the rug up in the movie,"
she told us.
Jennifer made the film while she was still seeing former
boyfriend Ben Affleck. The very public relationship
was obviously tough at times, but was she tapping into
those feelings from her real life? "I had a lot
of stuff happen to me up until then," Jennifer
revealed. "I didn't need just what was going on.
I didn't use just what was going on at that moment."
These days, the new bride and her husband, Marc Anthony,
are making their own moments much more private. "I've
got to try a different approach," admitted Jennifer.
"Because the approach I was using? Not so good;
not so much!"
"Love is a sacred thing and you have to treat it
with care," she added, and affirmed that, "Now,
I feel like... I'm a little more grown up."
And has she finally found her passion in her personal
life, too? "I think that I'm in a good place in
my life right now, I really am," she laughed. "And
all the good, the bad and the ugly -- everything --
now gets to manifest itself in this new phase of my
life."
