Home for the Holidays
October 7, 2004 Get ready to see very different sides of both Ben Affleck and "Sopranos" mobster James Gandolfini. We've got an exclusive look at the pair and their hilarious co-stars on set of the crazy new yuletide comedy, "Surviving Christmas."
"This is the story of a very eccentric, wealthy guy who comes unhinged at Christmas and decides to rent the family of his childhood home to be his family for the holidays," Affleck explained.
And the twisted holiday gets even more interesting when Christina Applegate arrives. "That repartee grows into a flirtation and attraction," Affleck told us.
In a rare interview, Gandolfini, who plays Ben's rented dad, told us that even when the cameras stopped, Affleck constantly had the cast and crew cracking up. "He's not overly concerned with, 'I'm Ben Affleck,' or any of that nonsense," Gandolfini insisted. "He's just a good guy."
And Ben told us that the killer mob-boss-turned-Christmas-caroler is serious about his comedy: "He's extremely funny in a way that De Niro is able to go from drama to comedy because he's so dry and so serious that is makes it even more outrageous."
Affleck's outrageous holiday romp roles into theaters October 22nd.
