Elton John Targets Madonna
October 5, 2004
He's long been known for his outlandish outfits on stage, but now people are associating Elton John with his outrageous outbursts -- and Madonna is the target of his latest tirade.
While presenting at the Q Songwriting Awards in London,
where Madonna was nominated for Best Live Act, Elton
told the audience just how he felt about her nomination:
"Madonna, best f****** live act? F*** off! Since
when has lip synching been live? I think anyone who
lip synchs live in public on stage with people paying
75 quid should be shot."
And Elton wound up his outburst by noting, "That's me off her Christmas card list. But do I give a toss? No!"
Madonna's not the only person Sir Elton has had a war of words with recently. Just two weeks ago, the singer blew up at photographers in Taiwan after they tried to get too close to the singer. Elton told them, "F*** off, I'll throw you through the f****** window. Rude, vile pigs."
After Elton's London outburst, Madonna's rep fired back saying, "Madonna does not lip synch, nor does she spend her time trashing other artists," and insisted, "Elton John remains on Madonna's Christmas card list whether he is nice or naughty."
