Ravishing in red, songstress Christina Aguilera brought down the house at the 2006 Video Music Awards, while Ms. Beyoncé blew the roof off and had everyone's full attention as she made the trench coat glamorous.

"I was inspired by ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith' because Angelina had the sexy trench coat," Beyoncé revealed.

Justin Timberlake made a grand return with his hit song "SexyBack," hip-shaking Shakira shook things up and Jennifer Lopez dodged a stage crasher!

But the real craziness happened backstage after the VMAs, and only "Extra's" cameras captured every wild moment.

Beginning with Jessica Simpson, who's voice was back and more boisterous than ever! So who topped the sexy list in Jess's book? "F****** Beyoncé," she dished. "Oh my God, you're going to have to bleep me!"

But that's nothing compared to what happened next, as a barricade holding back Jessica's fans suddenly collapsed. "I'm so sorry, I feel terrible," Jess said of the incident.

Back inside, host Jack Black took jabs at Paris Hilton, introducing her as "the world's most attractive producer of independent film."

Paris' former BFF, Nicole Richie, was also on hang with Nick Lachey as they presented Pink with the Best Pop Video Award for "Stupid Girls," a song that pokes fun at Nicole's former friend and Nick's ex-wife Jessica.

"I gave Nicole a big squeeze," Pink told us backstage. "I can appreciate the irony. I can."

Lil' Kim made a little fun of herself, wearing cuffs and a jumpsuit in her first public appearance since getting out of jail.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline made another appearance together, in a skit where she jokingly asked, "Kevin, where's the baby? I thought you had him.  Sh**."

But the party was just getting started when the show ended.

Miss Hilton checked into all the hotspots, and "Extra" spotted Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo leaving Justin Timberlake's bash.

James Blunt and model Petra Nemcova made their love public, and Beyoncé was breathing a sigh of relief at her post-VMA bash.
