Red-Hot Couples Take Over Video Music Awards
September 1, 2006

MTV's Moonmen took over Manhattan Thursday night at the Video Music Awards, and music's biggest stars got down at the wildest party of the year.

Jennifer Lopez arrived with her main man Marc Anthony, while a dapper and dateless Justin Timberlake hit the red carpet alone. But we're told JT's leading lady, Cameron Diaz, was at her main man's concert afterward.

Nick Lachey also flew solo, sans his new gal pal, Vanessa Minnillo. "Well, she actually works for the network that does the awards, so she's probably working tonight," Lachey said.

While Nick confirmed Hollywood's worst-kept secret that he's dating Vanessa, he did cross paths with his beautiful ex-wife, Jessica Simpson.

When asked about Joe Simpson's recent comments that they still love Nick and he's still part of the family, Nick returned the kind words.

"Well, good," Nick said. "That's nice to hear. Of course I wish her nothing but the best, and it's nice to hear that that's reciprocated. You know a part of you will always be part of that situation, but certainly life goes on, and I think we both have. That's just the way life works."

Christina Aguilera's husband, Jordan Bratman, waited for his wife inside, and his sexy wife showed us that her love for Jordan is literally skin deep.

"This was the first tattoo I got in honor of my now-husband Jordan," Christina showed us. "And one on my back, it's a wedding tattoo, ‘I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine.' He's amazing. He's my best friend."

Meanwhile, "Extra" was first to tell you about the "Beautiful" romance between supermodel tsunami survivor Petra Nemcova and VMA winner James Blunt. Well, they made it official Thursday night, stepping out together for the first time.

"Yes, he's a wonderful man," Petra told us. "Definitely, I feel lucky."
