Ellen Glams Up to Host Emmys
September 14, 2005 We're
just days away from this year's Emmy Awards, and host
Ellen DeGeneres is ready to go. And while Halle Berry,
Charlize Theron and those "Desperate Housewives"
of Wisteria Lane are keeping their Emmy night fashions
top secret, Ellen just couldn't keep the secret under
wraps any longer.
"Wait until you see the gown I'm wearing,"
DeGeneres said, while poking some serious fun at her
Emmy night designer duds in a hilarious CBS promo.
So can we expect countless fashion changes, like what
we've seen from previous hosts? "I don't have the
budget for that," DeGeneres insisted. "For
some reason they won't give me more than two dresses,
but I am going to change four times! One time I will
wear the dress the right way, and then I will do it
inside out. Then the same thing with the other dress
and inside out."
And not only will DeGeneres spice up TV's biggest night,
she'll ride the Emmy party train right onto her daytime
show the next day! "We are going to do the show
live, which we've never done before," DeGeneres
revealed. "Well, we are live all the time. That's
ridiculous to say we're not live. The people in the
studio audience can testify to that!"
And you can bet Ellen will really be keeping it live,
when she shows off her own unique fashion statement
Sunday night on CBS.
And Thursday on her show, Ellen hits the streets with
Gwyneth Paltrow to promote the actress's new movie,
"Proof."
