Backstreet's Back, All Right!
September 6, 2005
It's been more than three years since the Backstreet
Boys last toured, and "Extra" was backstage
with the super group as they prepared to perform a sold-out
show at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The hot five-some has certainly grown up since they last toured. During their time off, Kevin focused on acting, Brian started a family, Howie got into real estate, and Nick made a solo album (as well as some headlines while dating Paris Hilton).
But the biggest change came in A.J. McLean's life, as he rose from the depths of rehab to now being sober for three years. "I'm just happy to be out here doing it again sober this time around," McLean admitted. "I can appreciate these guys more. There's a lot more respect amongst us five, and they can trust me again."
"I think it gave us some time to really learn about ourselves," Nick Carter added. "Now I think we relate to each other much better than we ever have before."
The Backstreet Boys are once again all over MTV's "TRL"
with their new video starring the newly-discovered '80s
hair band, Sphincter. "They're just an incredible
group of musicians, and we really admire their careers,"
Kevin Richardson said. "They've been around a long
time, since the early '80s."
"We've spent the best times of our lives together,
and we'll continue to do that," Brian Littrell
added.
