Star Justice: Gold Arrested; Zeta-Jones and Spears' Stalker Dilemmas
September 14, 2004
A sitcom star has found herself in some serious trouble with the law, the latest on Catherine Zeta-Jones' battle against her alleged stalker, and, for the first time, Britney Spears' stalker speaks.
Former "Growing Pains" star Tracey
Gold has been accused of driving under the
influence and flipping over her SUV with her husband
and three children inside. California Highway Patrol
officer Steven Reed told "Extra" that Gold's
7-year-old child suffered a broken clavicle and head
lacerations in the accident. "The husband was taken
to the hospital and two of the three children were injured,"
said Reed.
Gold has not yet been officially charged with drunk driving. Prosecutors are waiting for her blood tests to come back.
There's been yet another courtroom shocker in the trial
of Catherine Zeta-Jones' accused stalker,
Dawnette Knight, as even her own lawyer seemed stunned
at what happened when Knight took the stand.
According to "Celebrity Justice" reporter Dan Simon, "To everyone's astonishment, Dawnette Knight made this wild allegation that she and Michael Douglas had an affair and on top of that, she says Michael Douglas gave her money."
Knight is facing 24 stalker-related charges.
And finally, Britney Spears' convicted
stalker, 25-year-old Daniel Lachance, is speaking out
for the first time, telling "Celebrity Justice"
that he never actually approached Spears, but went instead
to her mother to ask permission. Lachance is on probation
and has been ordered to go back to his hometown of Quebec.
