Meet the New Boss, Same as the Old Boss
September 9, 2004
With catfights, backstabbing and boardroom mishaps,
it's back to business as usual when season two of NBC's
smash hit "The Apprentice" hits the air Thursday
night. And Trump insisted, "It's going to be even
bigger than the first 'Apprentice.'"
It's hard to top the first season's 20 million viewers
per week, but Trump told us that they've already added
a few twists this season, such as having 18 moguls-in-the-making
instead of 16.
There will also be super-sized episodes. "Some
will be an hour and a half long and they will be tremendous,"
Trump revealed.
We can also expect harder tasks, higher stakes and of
course, an Omarosa-like villain. "I think the characters
in the show are beyond anything I ever imagined,"
Trump told us.
And you can bet The Donald never imagined that one wannabe
mogul would have the same name as his ex-wife, Ivana.
Regarding "Apprentice" Ivana (a brunette,
by the way), Trump told us, "She's extremely smart,
extremely emotional and you'll see some interesting
things happen with Ivana."
Meanwhile, Trump's ex is set to do some interesting
things herself in her new reality show "Ivana-man,"
and she can expect her ex-husband to tune in. "Sure
I'll watch," Trump said, adding, "So many
people make so much money off me, it's terrible."
But Trump is doing pretty well himself. He reportedly
will make $1 million per "Apprentice" episode.
"Well, NBC's been very nice," The Donald confirmed.
"But the reason they've been nice is because we
get the highest ratings."
Last season's "Apprentice" winner, Bill Rancic,
turned down the project of renovating the breathtaking
Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles, opting instead
for a skyscraper in Chicago. So Trump decided to do
the job himself.
"It's 300 acres, two miles on the Pacific Ocean,"
Donald said. "And I don't think there's a better
piece of land anywhere in the world."
Check out season two of "The Apprentice" for
yourself, Thursday night on NBC.
