We Just Wanna Fly!
September 2, 2004

"Extra's" set to rock the entertainment world! Mark McGrath, front man for the multi-platinum selling band Sugar Ray, has shown he's got the smarts to be a bona-fide star, and now he's taking over -- as our new leading man. That's right, Mark's joining the "Extra" team as co-host alongside Dayna Devon.

"This is my dream job," says Mark.

With his fresh perspective and a quick wit, Mark is ready to change the face of entertainment news. Talk about an ultimate star insider -- after seven years atop the charts, two multi-platinum albums and two number one hits, plus numerous appearances in movies and on TV, this rock star won't just be reporting on the celebrity life, he actually lives it.

"I've lived in the spotlight," Mark explains. "I know what these people are going through."

Yes, trading sold-out stadiums for the "Extra" stage comes naturally for this guy -- but the work hours might not. Just how does a rock star handle getting up at 7:00 a.m. for work? "I'm not going to sleep," Mark maintains.

We showed Mark to his office, and he was impressed. "Wow, very nice. I've never had an office before," he enthused. "I have voice-mail -- it's so cool."

Yes he's got style, he's got substance and now he's got a new home. "Everything I've worked for so far has been for this," says Mark. "I can't wait."

Catch Mark and Dayna together, starting September 13th. Welcome aboard, Mark -- we think you're ready for your close-up!
