In his new movie "The Last Kiss," Zach Braff is caught in a love triangle with two beautiful women.
"This is a real honest movie about what people go through when they're wrestling with settling down," Braff said.
And the "Scrubs" star opened up to "Extra" about his real-life love life, clearing up rumors he'd fallen for Jessica Simpson while on the rebound from his ex, Mandy Moore.
"It's totally made up," Braff admitted. "I met her a couple of times, she's a very sweet girl."
But Zach suspects how the rumors may have started. "I think I saw her two months ago at a bar in the Hamptons," he recalled. "And that was it."
The falsified tabloid reports about Zach and Jess made his already difficult breakup from Mandy even more uncomfortable.
"A relationship is hard, period. And doing it in the public eye is very new to me," Zach acknowledged. "I was a waiter five years ago, so when I was a waiter no one was writing lies about me in tabloids."
Back on the big screen, the object of Zach's desire is beautiful "OC" star Rachel Bilson, who plays a college co-ed seducing him away from pregnant on-screen girlfriend Jacinda Barrett.
And Ms. Bilson admitted to "Extra" she was shy about doing her first love scene with Zach in her big screen debut.
"That's really embarrassing," she said. "I'm dreading seeing that with my parents in a movie theater. I'm definitely not going to be in the theater at that time."
Meanwhile, Zach admitted he's looking forward to making more movies now that "Scrubs" is entering its final season.
"I had a great experience doing the show, and I love the show," Zach revealed. "But I think it will be time for me to open a new chapter in my life."
"The Last Kiss" leaves its mark on theaters Sept. 15.
