Got Beauty Questions? We've Got Answers!
August 19, 2005
Jaime Pressly, Kelly Carlson and Christina Moore are just three beautiful Hollywood stars who have questions about staying beautiful. And lucky for them, "Extra's" got some answers, straight from the top skin doctors in Los Angeles!
Pressly, who has a tough time taking care of her skin while shooing in exotic locations, wants to know: how can she keep her pores clean while shooting in China with 118 degrees weather, 100 percent humidity and makeup caked on all day?
Well Jaime, dermatologist Dr. Jessica Wu has the answer that may help. "Look for a cleanser that contains either salicylic acid or glycolic acid to keep your pores clean and skin exfoliated and smooth," she recommended. "I like Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser or Dr. Jessica Wu's Cosmeceuticals Refining Cleanser."
On her show "Nip/Tuck," Kelly Carlson has gone under the knife, but in real life the actress wants to know how she can tighten her face without getting a face lift.
And for Kelly, Dr. Karen Grossman has an answer. "Thermage treatments use radio frequency to shrink and tighten skin," she said. "It works really well to lift up in the brow area."
Meanwhile, blonde beauty Christina Moore says fear of needles fueled her question: does Botox hurt?
Dr. Stuart Kaplan says fear no more, Christina. "You can put numbing creams on," Kaplan recommended. "And also if you put ice on it five or 10 minutes before that, it also goes a long way in decreasing pain."
Thanks for the questions ladies; we're happy to help with some "Extra" free advice.
