'Housewife' Rushed to Hospital after On-Set Injury
August 18, 2005

Eva Longoria experienced a big scare Wednesday on the set of "Desperate Housewives." The actress was injured while shooting at Pasadena City College, just outside of Los Angeles, and Longoria was immediately rushed to the hospital.

The 30-year-old beauty was injured on a prison set when a pole fell and hit her on the head. Reportedly, Longoria was unconscious for a couple of minutes and was scared she had a concussion.

But this is Hollywood, and the show must go on. "Extra" later spotted Marcia Cross shooting a scene for an upcoming episode.

We have learned that Longoria returned to the set later that night. And on Thursday, Longoria's people issued this statement: "Eva is doing very well today. It was a minor incident, and she is ready to return to work. She is grateful for your support and thankful for all the kind get-well wishes."

Longoria's spokeswoman had one other comment about the star's speedy recovery, joking, "She's got a hard head."
