Rumor Control: TV Gossip Set Straight
August 11, 2005

Like all of Hollywood, the rumors in the world of television just keep on swirling. Luckily, "Extra" is here to set them straight. So from Oprah to Ray Romano, here's your TV edition of Rumor Control.

Are there wedding bells in a certain daytime queen's future? There is a little rumor from In Touch magazine that says Oprah Winfrey has splurged on a $70,000 Gianfranco Ferre wedding gown. So is Oprah really headed to the altar?

No -- The queen of all media denied the report. She didn't buy the dress, and she's not getting married. End of story.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Garner is working on a new project, a co-production with husband Ben Affleck, which is due out in about six months. But is it true that she's leaving her gig as the butt-kicking secret agent Sydney Bristow on ABC's hit show "Alias"?

No -- Although a tabloid claimed it was true, ABC said it hadn't even heard this rumor yet, so they can't confirm it.

And from one hot TV star to another, is Ray Romano headed back to the small screen just months after signing off as Ray?

Yes -- We made a call, and it seems to be true. Romano will appear on a limited number of "King of Queens" episodes this season playing his "Ray" character.

And speaking of television comebacks, is it true that the HBO hit, "The Sopranos," will film 10 extra episodes when the gangland family returns?

Yes -- According to published reports and our sources, the show is shooting 10 extra episodes for season six, or it could be 10 extra episodes to make for a season seven. But either way, we're just happy James Gandolfini and the rest of the gang are back. Now, who will survive is another question entirely.

And finally, did Colin Farrell get some luck of the Irish in his lawsuit against former Playboy model girlfriend, Nicole Narain?

Yes -- It's definitely no Irish curse in court for the actor who is currently in Miami filming Don Johnson's part in the "Miami Vice" remake. The judge in the lawsuit has extending the restraining order against Narain and the release of the tape.
