Star Justice: Power Wives
August 31, 2004
A movie mogul's wife says Botox ruined her life, while Kobe Bryant's wife seems to have pulled a disappearing act. We've got the details on these latest court cases in today's Star Justice Roundup.
Kobe Bryant's wife of three years very publicly stood
by her man when the NBA star's sexual assault case first
started to heat up last summer. But now, as Kobe walks
the courthouse halls in Eagle, Colorado, everyday, and
potential jurors in the trial answer questions behind
closed doors, Vanessa is nowhere to be seen -- and "Extra"
knows why.
Vanessa has been spending most of her time with her mother, Sofi, who will soon be in court herself as she goes through a nasty divorce from Vanessa's stepdad. Sources told us that Vanessa is so wrapped up in her support for her mom that she may not show up at all for Kobe's trial in Colorado.
Meanwhile, Hollywood is taking Botox to court. Mike
Medavoy, mega-producer of films like "Holes,"
"Basic," and "The Sixth Day," and
his wife Irena, a power-player in the Tinseltown social
scene, were in a Los Angeles court Tuesday to start
trial against the doctor and the medicine the couple
says ruined Irena's life.
In court papers obtained by "Extra," the couple claims Irena suffered from migraines and sought the help of Dr. Arnold Klein, a medical acquaintance of Michael Jackson -- but instead of a cure, Irena claims she was bedridden for several months with a variety of complaints. The trial is expected to last up to six weeks.
