Only the Best Boardroom Backstabbers
August 27, 2004

Meet the men and women who want to be boss. As Donald Trump gears up for the second season of "The Apprentice," we introduce you to some of the corporate contenders who’ll be battling it out to avoid hearing those two stinging words.

The new "Apprentices" are brainy, such as Pamela, the Harvard MBA investment firm partner. "It doesn't speak too well to your business acumen whether or not you can stand outside in a half-shirt and get more people into Planet Hollywood," Pamela insisted.

The new "Apprentices" are beautiful, including Jennifer, the Harvard law graduate, and Maria the marketing executive. "I'm very spicy as well," said Maria. "Someone called me the velvet tiger once, and I think that beautifully describes who I am."

And the new "Apprentices" are bold, like Raj, the bow-tie wearing real estate developer. Raj is one of several new "Apprentices" expected to emerge as the next vicious villain, played to perfection by Omarosa last season. "Control as many variables as you can control and attack," Raj said of his winning strategy.

Then there's Texas Rob, who could possibly be the new Troy. "Troy was a true gentleman and I’m a true believer that being nice can get you far," Rob insisted.

There's also Kevin, the Wharton MBA, who may be season two's answer to Kwame, portraying the lone African American male contestant. And Stacie, the Subway sandwich shop owner can't wait to work for Trump: "President Bush has Condoleezza Rice and behind every strong white man is a strong black woman. That's me."

Jennifer is the foxhunting real estate agent, and she’s pumped: "I can’t wait to go up against everybody."

Then there’s Chris, the stockbroker who is one of two contestants who did not go to college. But the underdog likes his chances: "I know I'm the smartest guy here because I know I'm the dumbest guy in the room."

And Sandy, the bridal shop owner, speaks for all of the new "Apprentices" and Donald Trump when she says, "I think this season is just going to blow last season away, no offense."

The boardroom backstabbing begins when "The Apprentice" hits NBC on September 9th.
