Staying 'Scrub'-elicous with Heather
August 24, 2004
The end of the Olympic Games are quickly approaching, but don't get teary-eyed -- it just means we're one step closer to a new season of "Scrubs." And things are better than ever, this year, with the addition of Heather Graham as a sexy shrink.
"I am sort of a brilliant psychiatrist, but in my own world," Graham told us of her character.
Graham's real-life world is funny enough that she had
no problem fitting in on the wacky NBC comedy, even
contributing some of her own habits -- like singing
to her food. "I really want to sing to my food,
so can you write it in. So now there's this scene where
I sing, 'Chicken salad sandwich you're good and cheesecake,'"
Graham said.
Heather will "Scrub" up for eight episodes this season, and that's just fine by head resident JD, played by Zach Braff. "I am a big Heather Graham fan," Braff revealed.
But that wasn't always the case. The first meeting between the "Garden State" filmmaker and the "Boogie Nights" star was no smooth operation. "He told me once that I was cold and not friendly," Graham revealed. "I thought I was being nice but he said I was basically bitchy and not that nice."
Apparently Zack's changed his tune since then. He told
us, "I've seen the entire canon, 'Boogie Nights'
twice." And always the good samaritan, Braff even
volunteered to use his "Scrubs" stethoscope
to check Heather's heartbeat. "I don't know if
I'm going to have a romantic relationship with Heather,"
Braff told us. "But I hope my character gets a
chance to."
That chance could come when the next season of "Scrubs" kicks off August 31st on NBC.
