Tom's 'Collateral' Travels: Mexico
August 18, 2004

"Extra" was there with Tom Cruise as he hit Mexico for the premiere of "Collateral" -- and struggled to get a word in edgewise.

It was mayhem in Mexico City as 10,000 screaming fans mobbed the megastar on his first trip ever to Mexico City.

"I've always wanted to come and a lot of times I've been working so much and that's usually when I get to travel," he told the crowd. "So I went, 'You know, I'm going to Mexico City!'"

But we didn't get much more than that as Tom's supercharged fans wouldn't let him get a word in, cheering loudly whenever he tried to speak. Tom took the time to share his superstar image with his Mexican fans by posing for pictures and signing autographs.

"I never worry about image," Tom said. "I don't know what that is. I'm just myself."

Up next on "Collateral's" worldwide tour -- Tom takes the film overseas to his fans in Europe.
