There’s No Place Like Home
August 13, 2004 The most talked-about show of the fall is less than a month away, and "Extra" couldn’t wait to get a glimpse of the "Joey" set. But star Matt LeBlanc did better than that -- he gave us an exclusive tour of the brand-new set he calls home.
From doctored photos to the real ones with LeBlanc’s
old castmates, everything looks and feels like home
to Matt. "The building that this is molded after,
I swear to God, is where I was living when I auditioned
for ‘Friends," he told us.
We were there as cameras rolled on the first scenes between Matt and co-star Drea de Matteo, who's traded in her "Sopranos" alter ego, Adriana, for Joey's fast-talking sister. "You have Adriana and Joey together, it feels kind of cool," Drea admitted.
Things are definitely cool for both Matt and Drea. Besides
the launch of "Joey," they're both nominated
for Emmy Awards for their former shows, and Matt is
the new cover boy for Details magazine. But new dad
LeBlanc said it's his off-screen life that puts a permanent
smile on his face.
"The really high point of my life right now is my new baby daughter," he revealed. "I could gush for an hour if you want, but it's just been great."
Look for Matt LeBlanc when "Joey" premieres September 9th.
