Gold is everywhere in tinseltown; it glams up Jessica Simpson, looks great on Nicky Hilton and shines on Charlize Theron. It’s the new Golden Age of Hollywood, and from clothes to shoes, make-up and more, what glitters really is gold.

And why is gold white-hot this season? Nieman Marcus’ Maria Cucciniello tells us, "A lot of the trends we're seeing now are taking us back to the ‘70s and ‘80s."

But today’s gold is more delicate than during the disco days, and Maria showed us just how valuable it is.

"Some things you could wear to the office or out to dinner," she advised, displaying gold accented belts and tank tops, along with miles of shimmering shoes.

Cucciniello also noted that, "You can glow in a Celine gown with a gold beaded top or in a classic outfit by Roberto Cavalli."

And one metallic knit dress was so comfortable that most found it to be like wearing pajamas. Even gold accents on sunglasses can make you shine.

You can even get the golden glow yourself, by applying a sprinkling of gold-dust glitter!
