Rumor Control: Denials
August 3, 2004
Rumors are constantly swirling in Hollywood, so it's a good thing "Extra" is around to set the record straight.
First up, now that Mary-Kate Olsen
is home after her stay at a rehab facility, has she
beaten her eating disorder?
In an exclusive report on Mary-Kate's first week home from rehab, Us magazine's Carolyn Schaefer says that although the slender twin has gained 10 pounds, her treatment is far from over.
"Extra" also has an update today on rumors
that John Kerry's daughter, Alexandra,
may be dating actor John Cusack.
Last week, newspapers stated, and "Extra"
reported, that the two were spotted together at the
Democratic National Convention. But it turns out they
are not an item.
Alexandra's camp called "Extra" to set the record straight. She and John are merely acquaintances, and they were discussing politics at the convention.
And another politics-meets-Hollywood rumor came after
Former President Bill Clinton's scene-stealing
appearance at the Democratic National Convention. Could
his follow-up act be a guest-hosting gig on "Saturday
Night Live?"
It looks like this rumor could come true. According to TV Guide online, "SNL" has offered the spot to Clinton, and a decision on whether or not he'll do it is expected by next week.
Could Brad Pitt's "Troy" co-star Eric
Bana be the next James Bond?
Pierce Brosnan reportedly retired from
playing 007. Many names have been suggested to fill
the super-spy shoes, including Hugh Jackman,
Heath Ledger, Jude Law and Ewan
McGregor.
And although a British newspaper reported that Bana had the leading edge to become Bond, Bana's people told us that it's not true. He has never been approached for the role.
