Star Sightings: Paris in Hiding and Halle’s Beauty Swipe
August 2, 2004
With one celebrity wedding, several big parties and a couple of late nights, it was a big weekend for the stars. And from the beaches of California to the Big Apple, "Extra" was there to cover all the happenings.
Paris Hilton was in hiding this weekend
in the Hamptons. On Friday, "Extra" uncovered
shocking photos of a badly bruised Paris at the Los
Angeles airport. Her mom and sister, Nicky, were spotted
taking in some polo, but Paris laid low.
The New York Post quoted a source claiming Paris’ ex-boyfriend,
Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, is responsible
for the heiress’ fat lip and bruised eye. But Carter’s
publicist told "Extra" the claims are, "false
and defamatory."
Meanwhile, Carter himself was spotted on the opposite
coast spending time with his brother, Aaron,
and a new blonde gal pal on the beach. He then went
clubbing with the likes of Bruce Willis,
Quincy Jones and fellow
Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson.
Back in the East, Howard Stern
and his girlfriend, Beth Ostrosky,
spent the weekend in New York celebrating Beth’s Hampton’s
magazine cover, and the shock jock was so excited by
the sexy swimsuit shots he gave Editor Jason Binn the
ultimate honor.
"He's made a great night for me," Stern said. "Thank you Jason. In fact, I want to tell you something. Our dog Bianca, we changed her name from Bianca to Bianca Binn."
And after ringing out the wedding bells for the third
time, Nicolas Cage
went bi-coastal this weekend. The actor and his new
bride, Alice Kim, reportedly married on Friday. The
newlyweds were spotted the day after in San Francisco
grabbing lunch. They then headed for a private air strip
where they jetted off to the Big Apple, and a New York
City shopping spree.
Christine Taylor received
a big surprise Saturday night in Hollywood, when Luke
Wilson, Courteney Cox, David
Arquette, Ellen DeGeneres and more surprised
the actress on her 33rd birthday at the Los Angeles
hot spot, Falcon. "The party was great, and it
surprised the heck out of her," Wilson said.
And across the pond, "Catwoman" is taking
a swipe at Hollywood’s obsession with plastic surgery.
Halle Berry, one of the most beautiful
women in the world, issued strong words of warning while
in Europe promoting her film: "I do think that
we have become obsessed with beauty and that fountain
of youth. I frankly am personally saddened by the way
women start to just really mutilate their faces in search
of that."
