Despite a Fourth Place 'Idol' Finish, Chris Daughtry Still Rockin'
July 10, 2006

Hot bod rocker Chris Daughtry, whose exit off “American Idol” shocked the country, isn’t crying any tears over his “A.I.” exit.

After being voted off in the elimination round of the FOX talent contest and then turning down an offer from the Grammy winning band Fuel as their new frontman, Daughtry has finally made his next career move.

The 26-year-old North Carolina native has signed with music mogul Clive Davis in conjuction with 19 Recordings Unlimited, the label managed by "Idol" creator Simon Fuller, RCA Records announced Monday.

Daughtry is currently forming a band and “has already begun to work with A-list collaborators” to write and record material for his debut album, expected to drop later this year.
