'Dancing' Stars Get Romantic?
July 7, 2005
Almost 20 million footloose fans tuned in to watch a
gutsy Kelly Monaco pull off a dramatic come-from-behind
victory over "Seinfeld" alum John O'Hurley
on Wednesday night's "Dancing with the Stars."
Monaco and her partner, Alec Mazo, scored three perfect
tens, which clinched the couple's victory on the ABC
smash hit.
And as the confetti flew, "Extra" was onstage
with the smooth-stepping stars just moments after their
final moves. "It is unbelievable," Monaco
admitted. "When we got the tens, it was unbelievable."
"They really crucified her in the first round,"
O'Hurley noted. "And she was getting high marks
early on, but she stuck it out."
And in today's Maybelline Rumor Control, "Extra's"
uncovering who these stars are stepping out with, off
the dance floor.
They wowed the crowd with those sexy moves on the show,
but are Kelly and Alec dating in real life?
No -- the sexy former Playboy model and soap star is
stepping solo, while Alec is reportedly romancing Evander
Holyfield's stunning Polish partner Edyta Sliwinska.
Meanwhile, it looked as though John O'Hurley and partner,
Charlotte Jorgensen, had all the right moves, but are
the runners up involved in a real-life romance?
No -- Charlotte has a steady boyfriend and during Wednesday
night's big finale, happily married O'Hurley said, "I
want to thank my wife, Lisa, for allowing me to dance
with another woman for 13 weeks. This next dance is
for you."
And finally, he was one of the superstars sitting near
the dance floor Wednesday night, but did Patrick Swayze
reveal some secret "Dirty Dancing" moves during
rehearsals?
Yes -- the actor and professional dancer showed O'Hurley
a few moves before the big finale, but unfortunately,
it wasn't enough for him to finish on top. "This
has been a wonderful experience for perpetuating what
I consider a career," O'Hurley said.
So from cha chas to tangos, that's today's Rumor Control.
