It's a Girl for Angelina!
Angelina Jolie is a mom once again. The sultry superstar received the news that her new baby girl was ready to go home from Ethiopia Wednesday, according to People magazine Deputy Managing Editor Larry Hackett.
Jolie named her first daughter Zahara Marley Jolie. She's the orphan of two AIDS victims in Ethiopia, where Jolie has done a lot of charity work.
"She's made three visits to the country, and today's the final one," Hackett revealed. "Ethiopian officials said today that all the paperwork is done, and she's free to take her new daughter home."
Jolie spoke to "Extra" about her family plans back in 2003, just after she adopted her son, Maddox, from Cambodia. "I envision a whole team of kids of different races and religions living under one roof," Jolie had said.
So how does Zahara's big brother feel about the adoption? "Angelina told us exclusively that Maddox is thrilled," Hackett revealed.
And what a difference a week makes! Just days ago British tabloids speculated that Angelina might be pregnant with Brad Pitt's baby, after she was spotted inside London's famous Harrods department store shopping in the baby section. But Hackett says the adoption of Zahara has nothing to do with Pitt.
"He is not the father," Hackett said. "He is not part of the adoption at all."
However, People reports that Angelina and Brad did make a trip to Ethiopia in late June to see Zahara after spending time together at her estate in England, and Hackett expects to see even more of Brad around Angelina's place now.
"He clearly is taking on the sort of paternal role in this family," Hackett said. "I have to imagine that's going to be expanded with Zahara entering the picture and with the relationship between him and Angelina deepening presumably."
