'Housewife' Pandemonium Invades Europe
July 5, 2005
It was "Desperate Housewives" hysteria at the 45th Annual Monte Carlo Television Festival, and "Extra" joined Nicollette Sheridan, Marcia Cross and Brenda Strong for the European debut of the ABC smash hit.
"It's been a bit of a whirlwind, I must say," Sheridan admitted. "We started off two weeks ago in London, just arrived from Rome a couple of days ago and voila!"
And from toasting Nicollette on a yacht to joining the ladies for a night on the Monte Carlo town, "Extra" was there every step of the way.
"You know what's great," Strong revealed.
"Wherever I go, [fans] are so happy to see me alive.
They're like, ŽOh, you're not dead. You're for real.'"
But will the "Housewives" translate as well
across the pond as in America? "It already has,"
Cross told us. "I have people coming up to me from
Scotland, Spain, Ireland and Bangladesh. I'm not kidding."
And while much of the world is seeing the "Housewives" for the first time, we're already thinking about season two. But Cross didn't have any answers for us. "They don't tell me, I won't know until I read the script," she said.
While the ladies were quiet about next season, we did get the inside scoop on Nicollette and fianc» Niklas Soderblom.
"I don't know, we're thinking 2025," Sheridan joked about their wedding date. "Better late than never."
