Discover the Secrets of 'The Village'

"The Village" is the latest thriller from "The Sixth Sense" director M. Night Shyamalan. A tale of an isolated town with horror lurking in the woods beyond its borders, the film has already raised eyebrows in Hollywood for the amount of secrecy surrounding its production.
he movie's twists are so closely guarded that co-star Adrien Brody's own agent wasn't even allowed to read the script. But Brody told us there's nothing wrong with that: "As long as you're not harboring something awful, it's kinda fun to keep a secret."
With her breakthrough role 25 years ago in "Alien," Sigourney Weaver says she made no secret of her excitement at the chance to work with director Night -- despite being petrified of horror movies: "It's very ironic, you should see me when I see a spider!" she admitted. "Total wimp!"
Joining "Village" people Sigourney and Adrien is Joaquin Phoenix, returning for a second time around with Shyamalan after their first film together, "Signs." "What I like about working with Night is his endless search for truth and authenticity in his characters," Joaquin told us.
But despite these heavyweights, it's the film's lead character that's generating the most buzz. Night raves about screen newcomer Bryce Howard -- daughter of legendary actor-turned-director Ron Howard.
"There has got to be at least fifty people out there kicking themselves. She's never been in a movie," said Night of his discovery. "She was just acting Off-Broadway. And then I saw her and said 'this is monster talent.'"
Bryce remembers getting the call, "Night said, 'Ron, one day a boy will call you and ask for your daughter's hand in marriage, and this is only a little less important.'"
