Tia Carrere: One Hot Mama
June 15, 2006
Hot new mamas are hitting Hollywood! Angelina, Kate, Denise and Brooke are looking hotter than ever just weeks after giving birth.
But when Tia Carrere was pregnant with 8-month-old Bianca, the former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant gained an amazing 50 pounds.
"Every once in a while a Krispy Kreme donut would enter my life," she admitted.
Now, Tia is sharing her secrets to shedding those stubborn pregnancy pounds. "It was effortless for me. It just kept falling off," she said.
How did she do it? First, Tia hit the dance floor just seven weeks after giving birth. But she also got a much-needed baby weight burning boost.
She turned to Jackie Keller, author of "Body After Baby" and founder of Nutrifit, a healthy, gourmet food delivery service.
Jackie helped Uma Thurman get that killer bod for "Kill Bill." But you don't have to be a Hollywood star to try her diet dos. "It plans it all out, makes it simple," Jackie explained. "It's doctor approved and anybody can do it."
On the 30-day plan you eat three healthy meals and three snacks a day, like an oatmeal scone for breakfast and Asian chicken salad for lunch.
The book includes recipes that lower stress, boost energy and help with sleep.
But don't forget to sweat! And why not do it with your baby? "Angelina and Katie, this is a great exercise for new moms," Tia said. "Strap your baby on and hike; she loves it."
