Fashion's Biggest Night Constructs Set for Style Showdown
An all-star style parade took over the Big Apple Monday for the 24th Annual Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards, and the runway featured the likes of Jessica Simpson, Janet Jackson and Scarlett Johansson.
Red hot didn't even begin to describe Janet, who showed off her incredible new body in a plunging Bill Blass gown and shared her secret to dropping 30 pounds.
"You work out, you eat right," she said. "I hate working out, but unfortunately, I'm one of those people that has to. It took a lot of discipline and a lot of hard work."
Janet, who flew solo without boyfriend Jermaine Dupri, is also hard at work on her new album. But is it true she will shoot her next music video in her brother, Michael's, new Middle Eastern home?
"How did you know that?" she inquired. "Maybe, we're not sure… but how'd you know that?"
But Janet wasn't the only stunner stopping traffic Monday night.
Miss Simpson got an escort to meet her fans before setting off flashbulb frenzy on the green carpet, where she celebrated her own style success: her line of shoes, which are currently the number one shoe in the U.S. "I owe my fans so much," she said. "Even if you don't like my music or my acting, you'll love my shoes."
Supermodel Heidi Klum was in full bloom, and Lindsay Lohan had her fashionable date -- Karl Lagerfeld.
Scarlett Johansson's new dark do for her upcoming role in "The Nanny Diaries" really turned heads. And Scarlett's co-star, Alicia Keys, was just one of the beauties dazzling in diamonds. But the women weren't the only ones shining Monday night.
"My outfit matches my underwear, so everybody wins," joked the show's host, "Entourage" star Jeremy Piven, who looked cool in black Calvin Klein.
A trim Terrence Howard sported Dolce and Gabbana, Sean "Diddy" Combs literally dressed himself, and designer Tommy Hilfiger sported a Guns ‘N Roses shirt, making fun of his recent headline grabbing bar brawl with the band's lead singer, Axl Rose.
