Jennifer Connelly Takes a Beating in 'Dark Water'
June 30, 2005

You may never want to take a bath again after you see Jennifer Connelly's new psychological thriller, "Dark Water," in which Connelly plays a single mom who leases an apartment, which is drowning in secrets, from a broker played by John C. Reilly.

And from mysterious leaks in the ceiling to faucets gushing dark murky water, it's enough to scare the heck out of any New York apartment dweller.

"That's good," Connelly insisted. "That's what it's supposed to do!"

And when "Extra" sat down with the Oscar winner, she admitted that she took quite a pounding while making the film. "I think they said it was about 70 pounds of water pressure coming at me," she revealed. "I had huge bruises all over my shoulders from just sort of standing in the jets."

Jennifer also revealed the water pressure wasn't the only danger on the set: "I got silly putty put in my ears to protect my eardrums."

Soak up all the scary secrets hiding in "Dark Water" when it floods the big screen July 8th.
