Tom's 'War' Takes Hollywood by Storm
June 28, 2005
Tom Cruise took over Hollywood Monday night, where he continued his non-stop "War of the Worlds" tour of good vibes, peace and happiness for all of his faithful fans.
And to start the night off with a bang, Tom revved up the excited hometown crowd with a motorcycle parade up and down the red carpet with fiance Katie Holmes.
It was just the screen idol's own way of saying
thanks for the love and devotion that fans have
showered on him in Tokyo, London, Madrid, New
York and now back home in Hollywood.
As usual, the superstar gave all of himself as he reached out to touch the fans and signed autographs for two hours.
The premiere marked a big night of Oscar winners
and nominees, including Tom's old pal Will Smith,
Virginia Madsen and Anthony Hopkins with wife
Stella and a brood of star-struck nieces.
Also there was "King of Queens" star Leah Remini, a self-confessed Cruise groupie who has been at several stops along Tom's world tour. "Me and my husband are stalking Tom," Remini admitted. "We're hoping to make out with him tonight."
But the feeling is mutual. Tom spoke to "Extra" about his affection for the fans at the New York "War of the Worlds" premiere, where he said, "It's wonderful. You know, I talk to their families. A lot of people share their love."
And there's no doubt that Tom, as well as his
millions of fans, are excited about his recent
engagement to Katie Holmes. "I was talking to
brothers and sisters and mothers and it's just
fun," Cruise said. "I just go out and have a good
time. Summer is here. Let's let it out."
