Denise to Raise Daughters Alone, But Stays Close to Charlie
June 21, 2005

For the first time since her split with Charlie Sheen, actress Denise Richards is talking to Us Weekly about her new baby, her future and her career.

Us Weekly's BJ Sigesmund revealed that he's not surprised Charlie spent Father's Day with Denise, daughter Sam and newborn baby girl Lola. The two are committed to being good parents, and Denise told the magazine that ending the marriage was the hardest decision of her life.

"She tells us the two will always be in each other's lives," Sigesmund said. "I think it's always tough when anyone, celebrity or not, especially a mother of two, ends a marriage."

Denise is about to go back to work, starring in a UPN drama called "Sex, Lies and Secrets." And she told Us Weekly of her plans to bring Lola on the set, just like she did with Sam last year when we caught up with her on the set of a TV movie with Dean Cain.

"It's nice that we're in a business where we can take our kids to work," Richards had said.

At the time, Denise was gushing about her relationship with Charlie, telling us, "Having a baby has made the two of us so much closer."

We may never know what caused the two to drift apart, and in the magazine, Richards still seems to be in shock, saying, "I never in a million years thought I would be in the position I am in today."

Denise admitted to having her bad days, but even though she and Charlie will stay separated, they are committed to doing what is best for their two little girls together.
